CASSINA-IXC.
There are many kinds of design chairs in the world. But there are not so many chairs in the world only to be used as an exterior chair, aren't there?
The exterior chair is different from the interior chair, for example how to use it and its durability. It has a different theme. For this competition, we want recruit ideas for exterior chairs widely. The work that is winning the Grand Prix award examination will become a product of INTER-DECOR.

Grand-prix Designtope Award
Name of work: DROPS
Manufacturer: ISOTOPE
(Morie Nishimura&Kazuyoshi Inagaki)
Evaluation by ALBERTO MEDA
I propose the project n 34 "DROPS" for the Grand Prix Designtope Award.
A poetic idea which creates an imaginery landscape of luminous "drops".
These "drops" are confortable sitting tools which integrate in a soft structure the LEDs emitting suffused light. A nice example of integration of functions.
Using photovoltaic cells to recharge batteries the "drop" is also an "energy conscious" product.

Impressions and comments by the prize winners

About prize winning
This is somehow a kind of abstract dream. But we must say a lot of thanks to Mr. Albert Meda, because he understands our message in it.

About works
Keep the borderline between outside world, and spend life to fit the rhythm of nature. (From Zen)
We lost the way of living in the life of the city. We always think how to substitute that phenomenon.
"DROPS" is one kind of example.
