Impression of winning this prize

I must say thank you from my heart for Mr. Albert Meda who was the judge and gave me this chance, and the related people of the Designtope competition.

*Concept
This "SWING CHAIR" is an exterior chair, which gives an open feeling with its whole body under a big blue sky in the outside, catching the natural wind stream. The feeling is like rocking in a cradle of the nature. And it is possible to recline the body, watching the sky, or moving weight and rocking freely. I hope the people sitting in this chair can remember the primitive feeling that is nearly forgot. It is good feeling, like when born and rocked in a cradle or mother’s arm.

* About material
I devised a recycled wood casting because I considered durability in the outside and strength for moving. From this casting we can take warm feeling from wood. * About construction This construction can possible arrange moving furniture include chair. Because the construction using outside lines, and make to move it. And it is constructed from only one part. It is not necessary to assemble. This gives a low cost production.

* Diffusion Version (Indoor)
I made it smaller and changed material to plywood. So it became possible to develop a familiar diffusion version of "SWING CHAIR" for the room.
